SalsaSuzy & Gregorio's Mexican Adventure Begins!

Originally from SE Alaska, my husband and I moved to the “lower 48” for a couple of winters so our oldest son could play football, then just sort of kept on going...

Greg had been a commercial fisherman in SE Alaska. I (Susan) was a florist & decorator. Busy lives with three kids. Our foray south for football lead to a spur-of-the-moment trip to the Oregon Coast, which lead to the rather impromptu purchase of an old motel on spectacular sea cliffs! And later, to the my designing & our building RoseCliff-by-the-Sea (a wonderful large Nantucket-style home where we hosted & catered weddings).

In February 1995, as Greg left for winter crab fishing in Alaska, I ventured south of the border with my Dad for a week of adventure & sunshine. Nine months later our first home in Mexico, Casa Susana, was a reality! Like so many others, I’d been instantly smitten, and Greg didn’t put up much of a fight.

That was 22 years ago. Since then, Mexico (particularly the La Cruz de Huanacaxtle/Bucerias, Nayarit area) and the people who live there have become a big part of our lives and of who we are. We can’t imagine having missed out on this wonderful life- adventure!

p.s. Oh yeah, somewhere along the line I became SalsaSuzy. Stuff happens, right?

Check back to my blog often ~ I'll be writing about our current Mexican adventures, awesome food & restaurants as well as some stories about the wonderful people we've come to know over these past 20 years south of the border... and this wonderful life experience, THE BEST!
